A major difference between Muslims and Christians!

January 27th, 2010

Here in Ghana we almost daily come across Muslims from various parts of West Africa. Nations like Niger and Mali.

Often my heart goes out to them as I see them passing by and I often offer to pray for them.

I have noticed though that immediately after praying that God would bless them and reveal His goodness to them, that often the Muslims (especially the young men) then ask me for me to give them something. They in their own words ask: “what have you got for me”.

Its almost like these Muslim young men don’t see the greater blessing, that being the prayer. God is the source of everything, it is God that gives us the ability to prosper.

It seems that these Muslims are often more concerned for material wealth, than they are for being rich in the things of God or even having a love for God.

Yet when we pray for Christians often they are very thankful, and very very rarely do they ask for any money after the prayer.

Could it be that 1 Corinthians 2 verse 12 is speaking here………..Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Could it be that these young Muslim men don’t have the Holy Spirit/The Spirit of God and as a result they don’t see that prayer is the greater blessing? As a result these dear young men are hungry for money rather than having a love for the creator?

Could it be that Islam is another of those false paths, a path where man is seeking to find his own way to God, rather than accepting the only way that God has given us, that being through Jesus Christ?

Romans 10: 3-4 says: For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Let the reader decide……………

Much God given Love from Ghana.

Steve.
