God wants to supply and equip us anywhere.

April 28th, 2021 Comments off

For God to supply His people…..anywhere.
It happens through and of the New Covenant which is purely through faith.
Which has nothing to do with the Ten Commandements. The Ten Commands are weak cause of human flesh and not work anyway. Romans 8:3.

Further, Christ on the cross made us to have no relationship to God through the Ten commandements..
We is now supposed to be dead then to the Ten Commands..
So then we preach the New Covenant which God backs and empowers to do. 2 Cor. 3:6

Romans 7:4 NKJV Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.

God has supplied His Spirit even through humans faith in Christ. and through our trusting/leaning on the gospel.

How will He not also supply all other thingss needed to live God pleasing. Excpet through that same faith and gospel which enables God to be God, and humans to be made into a whole new incorruptible creation. Delivered from the sin of Adam through the Last Adam even.

1 Cor. 15:45 AMPC Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life].

Galatians 3:5 AMPC Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on the message that you heard?

Where ever and who ever you be. There is a supply available to elevate you to God pleasing…..So God can be a God to you. Then so you be the wholesome Holy one you need be. So you can enjoy the Maker, free from sin…

Which is the correct religion?

November 18th, 2017 Comments off

Which is the true religion? There is a very simple answer to this question.
Consider the desire of God towards man which is for fellowship/relationship with us all.
That which prevents fellowship is the sin of man.
Isa. 59v2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. NASB.

Then too living by the flesh or the corrupt nature is not God pleasing.
Romans 8v8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. NASB.
Jesus further clarified the kind of relationship needed for fellowship with God. In John 8v29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” NKJV

Carrying forward the thought that God desires fellowship with us. Sin and the corrupt nature prevents such. Then the true religion is where God has provided deliverance from sin and the flesh.
Matt. 26 v28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. NKJV
Acts 10 v43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.” NKJV
Romans 5 v19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. NKJV.

The true religion then is centred on Jesus Christ who has dealt with mans sin.
The true religion is also that which provides the ability to overcome the flesh. Not just on some limited level but sin and corruption overcoming 24/7.
Romans 8 v 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
The Spirit of Christ/The Holy Spirit is available 24/7 because we have received Christ in being Born of God/Again.

Further. 1 John 3 v9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. NKJV

Man too has a part to play, that is we need to stay/abide in Christ to stay sin free. See 1 John 3 v6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. NKJV

We are all born in sin and corruption through Adam and Eve. Yet through being Born Again, God delivers us from sin, and we are empowered to live God pleasing lives 24/7. Being Born Again happens when we receive Jesus Christ who then dwells with our spirit. Being Born Again also makes us alive to God. Being made alive to God makes constant fellowship with God a breeze/easy and fun even.
So we can know Him and enjoy Him even while on Earth.
Romans 8 v10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. NASB.

Question.
Does your religion deal with the sin and flesh issues?

Some observations.
As an evangelist, I have yet to meet a Hindu or Bhuddhist or Muslim or Jehovah Witness or a Mormon or a Sabbath Keeper who really was walking in right relationship with God, or who was sin free.

The true religion is that which is of God, that which deals with sin and flesh.

Dying as a sinner!

July 11th, 2016 Comments off

Muslims often tell me that after they die; that they have a hope tbat Allah will forgive them for their sins.
Yet Jesus Christ the sinless one put to death the idea of obtaining a forgiveness after death.
John 8 vs 24 says….

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Jesus Christ who came from above, does not want man to die as sinners. For sinners or unclean people cannot enter Heaven..

Religion and truth that proceeds from God says 2 Corinthians 5 v18 And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation,

To die a sinner, is to perish. To believe and to receive Christ is to be reconciled to God in this life and before death.

After all how could we be given the work and message of making man right with God, if first the messenger was not put right?

Reader look to Christ for truth and life, not man or his religions.

Should Christians keep the Sabbath?

October 2nd, 2015 Comments off

The death of the ten Commandments, or how are Christians too relate to the law? Plus Sabbath keepers cant handle the truth. Are issues made plain here….

First up, keys to sound doctrines, and whats needed to handle scripture well. Looking on the internet. Plenty of debating going on about the Law verses Grace. The position of the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath in particular; in the lives of Christians.

Those supporting the need for a written moral law (ten commandments), have they ever met Jesus Christ? To handle the word of God not even well but at all, first up we must be a Born Again. That’s a fundamental if you like.
Without being Born Again man/woman will be subject to heresies and their own desires. Which are fruits of the flesh. See 2 timothy 4:3, and Galatians 5:19-20.
We can be Born of God even yet still live in the flesh. We need to know that a life in the flesh does not favor a relationship with God at all.

No Born Again, no righteousness in mans life. No righteousness and truth is suppressed.
Some of you have known a truth that God has revealed to you. Yet because of walking in sin, that truth was lost. See Romans 1: 18.
Christ said in John 17:7 to understand doctrine you need to be doers not just hearers.
Those exalting the law, have you given your self to a life of witness?
See Kingdom of God about power not words. We need power to minister and that’s to minister the new Covenant only, 2 Corinthians 3:5-6.
When it comes to doctrines let the Holy Spirit teach you, let Him form them within you.

Then consider, who is a Christian?

A Christian is one who has been declared righteous and right before Jehovah.
A Christian is one who has Christ dwelling within.
A christian is one who has been made alive to God.
A Christian is one who is Born of God.
A Christian is one who led by the Holy Spirit…
A Christian is a child of God.
A Christian lives by faith.

As a Christian we walk in all these blessings/abilities only through the New Covenant. Too understand if a Christian needs to keep the Sabbath. It helps to consider the Old and New Covenants.

What is the New Covenant?….
An agreement between God and His desire (man)….
Gods part of the agreement is to give us His best. Himself, the Holy Spirit.
Giving us power to be His Children. See John 1:12
In the New Covenant, God puts His law within us. See Jeremiah 31: 33
Yes I Steve confirm that truth. I don’t need an external 10 commandments to know how to live before a Holy God. Walking in the Spirit and there is not even a desire to sin. Galatians 5:16. Walking in the Spirit means we live leaning on His power not our own. Romans 8:13

Mans part of the agreement/role. We need to walk in that Spirit, and abiding in Christ to receive fully the blessings. We do that by receiving Christ, then walking in the new-ness of the Spirit. Being made alive to God. Romans 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
To walk in the Spirit goes hand in hand with a crucifying of the flesh..

God today only gives Himself to man through the New Covenant…

Then considering the old Covenant.
The laws including the Sabbath keeping of the old Testament were Old Covenant means to relate to Jehovah. Old Covenant also included sacrifices for sin; and sin and wave offerings. Old Covenant was once again a way for God to bless His people, and for His people to draw closer to Him. Old Covenant also included the 10 commandments.

Obviously the Jews and God fearing others were supposed to be obedient to the commands.
Yet the Old Covenant was restricted. There was a major flaw in the implementation/putting into practice of it. Because of the flesh. The Jews were not able to keep his part of the agreement. See Romans 8: 3.

Further under the Old Covenant there was no indwelling Holy Spirit.
Its only because of the workings of the New Covenant that Gods temple now is within man. John 7:39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Further God confirms the ability of the New Covenant by enabling His people to to minister the New Covenant to the world through it. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

As an Evangelist, its plain there is such a sufficiency to do His will. Preaching and for living before Him. This sufficiency is only available through the New Covenant. After all the indwelling Holy Spirit gives us gifts like the tongues. Tongues is great source of strength. Truly tongues and other gifts edify, give strength for the work.

Is there a place for a mix of the Old and New Covenants?. Is there place for a blend of the old and the new? Some say we believe in Christ, so we want to please him by keeping the Sabbath. Others say they are Born Again. Then because of a zeal for God, they want to be obedient and keep the 10 commandments. In particular the Sabbath.
Yet such zeal is not based on knowledge. Such thoughts actually lead to a falling away from grace and being separated from Christ.

Christ is the one who should be the object of our desire, we always need to keep going back to that thought. Galatians 5: 4 NKJV You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
Estranged means to be separated from. So at one time maybe you knew him, once you walked in grace, yet because of misplaced zeal, or a faulty view of the law there is a falling away.

To receive all the blessings of God happens now through the New Covenant. To say I love God, so I want to keep the Sabbath and other commandments. Thinking like this is flawed and comes from the flesh. Galatians 5:3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. If you start playing with the law, keeping the Sabbath. Then bible says you become a debtor to the law. Meaning you are then required to keep all of the rules of the Law of Moses. You are right back to square one. Still trying to deal with the curse of the law as well. Galatians 3:10.

Further. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? 10 You observe days and months and seasons and years. 11 I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain. Galatians 4: 9-11.

Its there to see, plain even, we cant mix Old Covenant with the New. We cant know God and receive His Spirit through the New Covenant then turn back to that which is weak.
Paul says it well in Galatians 3: 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Then verse 5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Honestly….
After having tasted the goodness of God. Having seen and sampled what the New Covenant offers. Having received the earnest of the Holy Spirit and being sealed by Him, through the New Covenant. There is no desire to go elsewhere its pointless.

Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Some are saying on the Internet that the Old Covenant being down away with (being made obsolete) does not include the 10 Commandments. That the Ten Commandments hence still applies today. Yet faulty thinking again. Once and for all making things plain. The ten commandments is the law. How is the Christian supposed to relate to the Law? Death, we are supposed to be dead to it. Don’t play with it. Leave it alone. Romans 7: 4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.

To bear fruit for God you need to be dead to the law through the body of Christ. Being in Christ then being under the law or a Sabbath keeper. Brings such a estrangement from the life that Christ has give us. Thats why Sabbath keepers usually don’t speak in tongues. Thats why Sabbath Keepers miss out on so much…

If you really want to please God, if you really want to be zealous for Him. Then minister out of the New Covenant only. Be passionate for souls. After all there is more joy in Heaven when one sinner repents. The New Covenant that is where the power is to do and be.

So, should Christians seek to keep an Old Covenant precept. No.
Put your eyes on Christ walk in the Spirit, minister the New Covenant and you will bear much fruit for God.

Do Sabbath Keepers enjoy Christian blessings?

January 14th, 2015 Comments off

The Children of God have many benefits.

Christ in us, enables us to be loaded to live a God pleasing life.
After all Christians/or Christ in dwelling ones, possess God. In this life and also for all eternity.
How then could we not be loaded!

Some of the magnitude of blessings given through the indwelling Christ.
Assurance of eternity.
We are made as righteous as God.
Peace with God, and wisdom to live with man.
Power over sin/flesh the world and Satan.
We can live a God pleasing life.
We possess God now and for all eternity.
We are enabled to change, break bad habits, stop sinning. See 1Jn. 3:9
We have an anchor for the soul, a benchmark against which we can test for truth.
We are led by God’s Spirit.
Live free from condemnation.
We can speak in tongues, which is a sign of the righteousness within.

A question is this: Do Adventists/Sabbath Keepers enjoy/exhibit the benefits associated with the indwelling Christ?

We mostly ( African Revival Mission) have been dealing with Adventists, yet other Sabbath observing congregations we have met, exhibit similar fruit. That is no power to live.

Often on our outreach programmes, we meet Adventists. Common beliefs exhibited as a result of their human doctrines are as follows:
That all humans are just sinners, even Christian humans.
That no one is righteous.
That no one is or can be perfect.
That no one can be sure of salvation.
That you must keep the ten commandments to be saved, yet especially the 4th about keeping the Sabbath.
That speaking in tongues is something you learn.

Isaac an Adventist man I met last week said. Christ has given us the possibility to gain eternal life.
Another Adventist all dressed in a suit and tie was saying he was not righteous, just a sinner.

The Human condition is one of indwelling sin. This condition is well known by God. His solution to such a condition is the Indwelling Christ.

We can pray all day, asking for God to give us the victory over sin. Yet…………..
Its foolish to think we can overcome indwelling sin aside from having the indwelling Christ. Yet that is the struggle most Sabbath keepers/Adventists face. An impossible task.
See Galatians 5. In verse 2 it says if you become circumcised/or a Sabbath keeper then Christ will not profit you.
The result of being estranged from Christ. Estranged means to be made hostile to, see verse 4.

Big difference then, between. Trying to observe Sabbath and putting on a religious veneer/covering. Having to beg God for strength to defeat sin.
Compared to having the indwelling Christ’s sin overcoming strength.

Paul said its no longer I that live yet Christ lives in me. Paul knew and lived in this source of strength. That same strength is ours today. The lord Jesus with my spirit.
Christ with our spirit enables us to overcome sin, the flesh, Satan, the world.

Speaking in tongues along with other gifts of the Spirit, are a gift from the indwelling Christ…
Interesting then that, Adventist’s tell me that if I come to Ghana and learn their native languages then they say I am speaking in tongues.

This Post, serves as a warning. God desires all of us, all our heart, our mind. Yet without the indwelling Christ and his gift of righteousness you cannot draw near. Sabbath keeping estranges us or puts as at odds with Christ and his Salvation for man.
After many many conversations with Adventists in particular have seen that there is something amiss. Its like the lights have not been turned on.

Yet its obvious, just because someone comes to you with a bible under their arm, it doesn’t mean they come with God.

I have been asking Sabbath Keepers for scripture to support the command for Sabbath worship. They often ask for proof for Sunday worship. Yet Christians should have a desire to worship God everywhere, always and every day. We are not just Sunday worshipers yet worship God in Spirit and truth daily.

This article could just as easily be written about: The Jehovah Witness, Or Latter Day Saints, or Hindu’s, or Good news Mission (with Ock Soo Park), etc.
After all the Jehovah Witness have removed most of the Christ indwelling man scriptures from their version of the bible.

Seeker its better you walk in doctrine whereby salvation comes to you purely through faith in Christ, after all that is the only way God’s has for us to receive. While we were sinners Christ died for us. So then why would we have to add anything to the salvation that Christ brings. Like keeping a Sabbath for instance?

Definition of the Children of God.
Those that are led by the Holy Spirit as stated in Romans 8 v 14 all bibles.
To be led by the Spirit first you need to be made righteous so you can receive Him the Spirit.

Why I would not want be be a Sabbath Keeper!

January 27th, 2014 Comments off

Is the Law Sin?

This could be another title for this post.
As often those who strictly worship on the Sabbath, have the concept that so called “Sunday worshipers” believe the law is sin.

Since I have come to live in Ghana. We have met many Sabbath Keepers as there is a Seventh Day Adventist congregation not to far from us. We meet them day to day and also as we minister the word in the community.

Often when we ask Sabbath keepers about their salvation, all too many/most reply: “that they are not sure of their eternal destination, saying that only God knows.”

It saddens me often, when engaging in conversations with Sabbath Keepers as they seem to lack basic bible knowledge/understanding as well. They seem to bear little fruit for Christ.

So over time I have really come to question if Seventh Day Adventists or Sabbath keepers of other denominations too actually have the Spirit of God.

Then reading Galatians 3 it became clear.
In Galatians 3v2 Paul is indicating that the Holy Spirit is not given to whose who are keeping the law. Then v 14 same chapter makes it plain. That we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3v12 Yet the law is not of faith.

Romans 14:23 whatever is not of faith is sin.

Conclusion.
It is for the glory of God that we bear much fruit (meaning we live as Christ lives). Yet to do so we need the Holy Spirit. An evidence (though not thee only evidence (others as well is Assurance of salvation/victory over sin/love for the unlovely/biblical understanding/peace with God/gifts of healing/faith etc) is that we have received he Holy Spirit is that we can speak in tongues.

Why is it that the vast majority of people (I have only met one out of hundreds, if recalling correctly he received tongues in another church) of Sabbath keepers do not have at least the gift of speaking in tongues? Here in Ghana at least I have never come across a Sabbath Keeping congregation that understands or uses, at least the gifts of tongues.

Tongues is a great gift as it edifies/builds up the believer, enabling evangelists to preach. We do not have to fear the use of such gifts simply because there are counterfeits in the world. This is one reason why God has given the Church the gift of discernment as well.

Is this a reason why Strict Saturday Worshipers don’t bear much fruit?
Is this the reason why the Sabbath Keepers don’t speak in tongues due to their not having the Holy Spirit?

Another reason why I would not want to be a Sabbath Keeper; Is that often I hear them speaking out so harshly against the Christian body.

Yet bible is plain. We should be like Philemon and have a love for all the saints. Philemon 1v5

I love Sabbath keepers, yet its their un-fruitful doctrines we hate.

Evangelist Steve, wanting Christians to be equipped and Spirit led.
Evangelist Steve with God’s love for all we meet.

Amen…

Who is righteous?

December 10th, 2013 Comments off

IMG_4138

This is a Christmas photo of Steve the Evangelist and his family…
We here at African Revival Mission continue to spend time talking to Muslims and Jehovah Witness folks and the lost…

Is interesting as I often ask the Jehovah Witness and Muslims if they are righteous? Their reply is no. They say there is no one righteous on the earth.
Yet Steve adds here. If that was true then no one would be born of God.

See it says in Romans 8 v 10: 10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Without that righteousness (which is gifted to us through Christ) we could not come alive spiritually, which is the being born again….
Without that gift of righteousness we could not serve God, nor worship Him in Spirit or truth.

Without that gift of righteousness we cannot preach and minister in truth and with love.

Without that gift of righteousness we are lost and separated from Our Maker.

God is good, and He wants you to be good to. Through receiving His gift of goodness. Then go and do the works OK.

Steve..
